Luciane Sperling came to Australia from Brazil on her own to start a new and exciting life but found herself in a situation that was unhappy and potentially dangerous. Through her time of crisis, with her young daughter, Luciane had to make some very serious and hard decisions.

With thanks to a wonderful community and through finding her own inner strength and faith, Luciane has made a new life for herself and her daughter. It hasn't been easy and there have been many hard decisions to make, like leaving the family home to live in a women's refuge and finding ways to make a new life on her own.
