We want to make your experience on our website as easy as possible. If you

Q: Are you open to the public?

Yes we are! We are located at 495 High St Maitland NSW 2320, and are open 6 days per week. We have a free click and collect service available for all our local community. Simply choose click and collect at checkout and we will have the book waiting for you instore.

Also all of our handpicked, recycled books are listed on our
website so feel free to browse from the comfort of your home (or wherever you
are) and have the books delivered to your door.

Q: Can I donate books to Maitland Book Exchange?

Yes, we accept donations of quality second-hand books in
need of recycling. Call us or bring them instore. Declutter your bookshelves,
bring them instore and then buy new reads on your ToBeRead list.

If they are in great condition, you can even
earn Recycling Rewards. See details on Rewards here

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major payment methods; Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard and AMEX), Shopify Payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Q: What are your shipping options?

Our Shipping Policy and rates can be found here or remember we have free click and
collect from our Maitland store.

Q: How do I track my order?

Once we have fulfilled your order, you will receive an email with your tracking number.

Q: How can I cancel or change my order?

If you email us within 24 hours, you may be able to cancel or change your order. But we aim to post books on the day they are ordered, and if it’s already at the Post Office, there is not much we can do to stop it. Please order carefully!

Q:What if I don’t like the condition the book is in when it gets to me?

Please remember that all our books are second-hand (previously read), so please choose your purchases carefully.  The majority of our books are in as-new condition and some have wear and tear and are priced accordingly. Most books have actual pictures of the books on the site for your review before purchase. If you have any questions about the quality of any of our recycled books, please send us a message before you purchase.

Q:I am after a specific book, and I can’t see it on your website.

This probably means we don’t have it, but feel free to send us a message at books@maitlandbookexchange.com.au and we can check or if it does come in, we’ll let you know!

Q: I own a rare book – can you value it?

No, this is not our expertise. Try finding a certified
valuer here
